About The University

The need to have a separate Medical University in Tamilnadu exclusively to deal with medical education and research at Under graduate, Post graduate and Doctoral level was keenly felt for over a period of years and was under consideration of the State Government since 1980. The State Government appointed a High Level Committee consisting of Dr. A. Venugopal, Dr. M. Natarajan and Dr. S. Kameswaran to go into all aspects of establishing a separate Medical University and make suitable recommendations to the State Government.

The members of the High Level Committee consisting of Dr. S. Arumugam, Dr. M. Natarajan and Dr. S. Kameswaran submitted the proposals to the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Hon Dr. M.G. Ramachandran in the presence of Hon. Dr. H.V. Hande, Hon. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu on 5.7.1983 to start a separate Medical University in Tamil Nadu
Apart from modern medicine, the Committee was also requested to examine and suggest improvements to be made in other traditional systems of Indian Medicine viz. Siddha, Ayurveda and Unani. The intension was that the Medical University to be established in Tamil Nadu should bring about co-ordination between various educational and training institutions of modern medicine as well as other Indian Systems of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, etc. and promote research. Based on the report of the Committee, the Medical University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu Medical University Act, 1987 (Act No.37 of 1987) received the assent of the President of India on 24th September, 1987. By an Act No. 39 of 1991, it was amended that the Act may be called "The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Act, 1987. This affiliating University governed by the said Act started functioning from July 1988. The Students admitted to the various Medical and Paramedical courses after 1.3.1988 come under this Medical University as per Government notification issued in G.O.Ms.No.1628/Health, Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy and Family Welfare Department dated 23.08.1988.
The Administrative office of the University was initially functioning in a building at Velachery Road, Guindy, Chennai - 600 032 from 12.07.1988. From May 1989 the administrative office of the University was functioning at a seven storeyed building owned by Periyar Trust at 52, E.V.K. Sampath Salai, Vepery, Chennai- 600 007. The University has constructed its administrative complex in the land at Nawab Garden, Guindy allotted by the Government of Tamil Nadu as per G.O. Ms. No. 1165, Health and Family Welfare Department dt. 21.10.1992. The University is now functioning in its own building at Nawab Garden, 69, Anna Salai, Guindy, Chennai - 600 032 with effect from 12.6.1994.
This is the only Medical University in Tamil Nadu capable of granting affiliation to new institutions under Government or Self-financing in Medical, Dental, Indian Medicine/Homoeopathy & Allied Health Sciences(Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy etc.) and awarding degrees under a single umbrella to maintain uniform and high standards of education. Until 1988, all degrees of Health Sciences were awarded by the University of Madras.
The University also promotes research and disseminates knowledge gained therefrom. The University has been declared eligible by the UGC u/s 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 for receiving central assistance. (UGC letter No. F.9-14/2007 [CPP-I] dt 12.3.2008).

After leaving 13 Reasons Why behind, Australian actor Katherine Langford is back on Netflix to headline her own series – Arthurian fantasy drama Cursed. Reimagining the world of gallant Knights and round tables into a story of religious and racial persecution headed up by a warrior Lady of the lake, Cursed is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller, and is sure to create a very different version of the King Arthur myth.But what do we know about the series so far? When is Cursed’s Netflix release date? 

Netflix has revealed that the series’ 10 episodes will be released on Friday 17th July, a date worth marking for fans of Langford or Arthurian myth in general. Cursed’s UK release date will be the same as in the US, as it is a worldwide release.

Greenland is an up and coming American debacle spine chiller movie, coordinated by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay by Chris Sparling. It stars Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor and David Denman.

It is planned to be discharged on August 14, 2020, by STX Entertainment.

Cast

Reason 

Researchers find that pieces of a comet will hit Earth in a couple of days, and will probably cause the annihilation of mankind; the main any expectation of endurance is to take cover in a gathering of fortifications in Greenland. The film follows the heroes' endeavor to get to that cover.

Creation 

In May 2018, Chris Evans joined the cast of the movie, with Neill Blomkamp coordinating from a screenplay by Chris Sparling.In February 2019, it was reported Blonkamp would not, at this point direct the film. That equivalent month, it was declared Ric Roman Waugh would coordinate the movie, with Gerard Butler joining the cast of the movie, supplanting Blomkamp and Evans separately, with Butler joining as a maker under his G-Base banner. In June 2019, Morena Baccarin joined the cast of the film. In July 2019, Scott Glenn, Andrew Bachelor and Roger Dale Floyd joined the cast of the film. In August 2019, David Denman joined the cast of the film.

Head photography started in June 2019.

Precept is a forthcoming covert agent movie directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.

Casting started in March 2019, and head photography occurred in Denmark, Estonia, India, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States, beginning in May 2019. Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema shot on 70 mm and IMAX.

Precept is planned to be discharged by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 31, 2020 in IMAX, 35 mm, and 70 mm.

Production

Pre-production


Author and chief Christopher Nolan considered the thoughts behind Tenet more than twenty years, however commented "I've been taking a shot at this cycle of the content for around six or seven years". The title is a palindrome, perusing the equivalent in reverse as forwards. Nolan put forth a cognizant attempt to swear off any impact of the covert operative classification other than his own memory.

Casting

John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Elizabeth Debicki were cast in March 2019. The throwing of Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh was declared as shooting started. Himesh Patel joined in August, with Denzil Smith being included the accompanying month. Martin Donovan was uncovered upon the arrival of the first trailer. Release and Marketing

Merchant Warner Bros. Pictures initially planned Tenet for a July 17, 2020 discharge in IMAX, 35 mm, and 70 mm film. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was deferred to July 31, with a tenth commemoration screening of Inception taking the past spot.

In August 2019, Warner Bros. appeared a forty-second secret in front of Hobbs and Shaw previews. It was joined to Indian showings of Joker in October. The primary trailer was distributed online in December, when a film selective preface played in certain IMAX theaters before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The last was presented during Indian IMAX screenings of Birds of Prey in February 2020. A TV spot gave the idea that May, advanced in Fortnite's Party Royale mode. The film's upset logo, adapted by Nolan as TENƎꓕ, had been modified around this opportunity since it became visible that a bike brand bore the equivalent design.

With a creation financial plan between $200–225 million, Tenet is Nolan's most costly unique project. IndieWire guessed that the showcasing could push last expenses to $300–350 million, while Observer evaluated the film would need to make $450–500 million so as to break even. Nolan is accounted for to get 20% of the main dollar gross.

Hanging tight for the Barbarians is a 2019 show movie directed by Ciro Guerra in his English-language directorial debut. The film depends on the novel of a similar name by J. M. Coetzee. It stars Johnny Depp, Mark Rylance, Robert Pattinson, Gana Bayarsaikhan and Greta Scacchi.

The film debuted at the Venice Film Festival on September 6, 2019. It is booked to be released on August 7, 2020, by Samuel Goldwyn Films.

Production

It was declared in October 2016 that movie producer Ciro Guerra was dealing with an adjustment of the novel Waiting for the Barbarians, which would see him make his English language debut. Imprint Rylance was declared to star in the film.

In May 2018, Johnny Depp was expressed to have reached Guerra with respect to showing up in the film. Robert Pattinson was uncovered as being given in the film a role as well.Depp affirmed in October he would star in the film, and uncovered shooting was to start toward the month's end in Morocco, later pinpointed as being October 29. Billa is a 2007 Tamil action movie directed by Vishnuvardhan. It is a reboot to 1980 Tamil film Billa which itself was a redo of the 1978 Hindi film Don. Ajith Kumar assuming a twofold job nearby Nayanthara and Namitha playing the female leads, while Prabhu Ganesan, Rahman, Adithya Menon and Santhanam assuming supporting jobs. Prequel

In 2008, reports asserted that, following the film's business achievement, Soundarya Rajinikanth was intending to make a spin-off, to be created by Ocher Studios in relationship with Warner Bros. However, the continuation didn't emerge and the thought was dropped, with Ajith Kumar, Vishnuvardhan and Soundarya getting occupied with different ventures.

In mid-2010, sources affirmed that Vishnuvardhan had wrapped up the content for a prequel and that Ajith Kumar would repeat the nominal character. The venture turned out to be formally reported in late 2010, after Ajith Kumar joined and first creation banner were distributed to the media. Suresh Balaje, child of maker and entertainer K.
